Bell Time Update

Dear Hiawatha Howe Families, 

As you may know MPS is preparing for the Comprehensive District Design to take place in school year 21-22.  Because there are many decisions to be made, a designated task force has been convened to gather data from the community about districtwide bell scheduling (school day start and finish times) that will impact K-12 students. There are two priorities being used to guide decision-making:

  • Generating more equitable access to after school programming and
  • Streamlining the Transportation Department services to reprioritize additional funding to provide classroom resources and support.
