During the 2014-2015 school year, Hiawatha Community School and the Hiawatha PTO partnered to bring an exciting arts opportunity to Hiawatha and Howe Schools!
In February and March, there were two “Artists in Residence” teaching alongside Art Specialist, Mr. Rivera. At Howe, 3rd-5th grade students worked with Artist Gustavo Boada in making cultural masks with clay and paper mache. At Hiawatha, K-2nd grade students worked with Artist Meg Erke on papermaking, paper marbling, and bookbinding projects.
