Our Mission Statement

Our Mission is to maximize individual student potential through the use of technology, differentiation, critical thinking, and high expectations within a nurturing and diverse community of learners.







Hiawatha Community School is located within a culturally diverse, urban community.  Pre-K-2nd grade are housed at the Hiawatha Campus and 3rd-5th grade are housed at the Howe Campus.  The two campuses are about six blocks apart.

African-American Parent Involvement Day

Sanctuary Resolution

The Minneapolis Board of Education passed the resolution to strengthen existing Minneapolis Public Schools’ (MPS) policies and practices and to declare MPS a safe place for all students and families, regardless of their immigration status, national origin or language.

Howe's OLPA Testing Schedule
